About Jedi: Survivor
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor from 2023 is a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order. It is set 5 years after the events of the previous game. Those interested in knowing what happened in between can get a copy of a novel Battle Scars which was published in March 2023.
The game was released on April 28, 2023. The Steam preorders offered some cosmetics (Kenobi, Skywalker, Solo). After the release, the game was plagued by lots of technical issues requiring multiple patches.
But if we ignore the mistakes, the game is an excellent successor to Fallen Order. Cal has some basic abilities from the start. He gradually collects others that help him overcome obstacles. He has five fighting stances at his disposal, which he acquires as the story progresses. BD-1 will also get some improvements, but overall the game style is very similar to the Fallen Order, so the player of the previous installment is not lost in any way. The game gives hints to newcomers, so it is not a problem for them to find their way around too.
The game is divided into two larger and several smaller locations, between which the player moves on the Stinger Mantis ship. Compared to the previous part, treasures (Datadiscs, Priorite Shards, Jedha Scrolls) can be found on the planets that can be traded. In general, there are no secret places like in the previous game, but the maps are filled with miscellaneous collectibles: database entries (BD-1 scans, echoes), essences (Health, Force, Skill Point, Perk), chests (cosmetics, stim-canisters), damaged echoes (Force Tear) and seeds (on Koboh only).
