Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith cover
The Mysteries of the Sith is a data disc for the Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, which means, among other things, that it requires JK:DF2 to run. The engine brings a minimal improvement compared to JK:DF2 in terms of graphics, the most noticeable are the colored lights - the shading in the previous game was only in shades of gray. But changes are taking place elsewhere. The first thing, aside from the animations in the game engine, is that Kyle has a sword right from the start. The second improvement follows immediately - Kyle has Rebel allies fighting on his side. The Force powers are no longer directly divided into light and dark. After all, it depends on the Jedi what they use the abilities for, right? :-)
After the first few maps, you "switch" to the head of someone completely different - a woman named Mara Jade, who is currently Kylo Katarn's apprentice and is the future wife of Luke Skywalker. With Mara, you go through to the end of the game to the last map with an unusual solution.
If anyone is fascinated by the appearance of a Rancor in the Jedi Academy, they should know that Mara has to fight and defeat one already in the Mysteries of the Sith. Another great thing about MotS is the last few maps. Not only do they require Mara to forget about clumsy blasters and such, but she must let go of everything she has ever known and fully rely on the Force that surrounds her and binds everything together...
Well, enough poetry, in short, towards the end of the game you find yourself on the world of Dromund Kaas, where normal weapons do not work, so with the help of your sword and the acquired abilities of the Force you must work your way to the depths of the Sith Temple... and save Kyle Katarn - yes, the obvious saving of the galaxy does not take place here :-) The road is made miserable first by the ysalamiri, later by the dog-like beasts - the vornskr.
On the game CD, there is a "secret" map featuring Luke Skywalker in the Cloud City. The player goes from the landing platform to the freezing chamber to the finale, guess with whom? :-) For simplicity, I have prepared the map in a zip file, just unzip it to the directory where you have the Mysteries of the Sith game installed. Here is said zip.
